Fry's Run Watershed Association January 4, 2011 Minutes Members present: Matt Powers, Bob Schmidt, Jeff McGuire, Linda Heindel, and Polly Clark. Matt received a brief email from Jim Wilson re:another college professor who will help us with the bacterial pollution from Fry's Run. There is nothing further from Gordon Heller on the Fry's Run Park model riparian buffer project. PennDOT has not scheduled anything because no funds have been allocated for it yet. Matt also reported that the source tracking of bacterial pollution in Fry's Run is still pending. We will also have to await further information on various possible funding possibilities for the buffer project and the stream impairment issue. Jeff, Jim, Bob and Matt have several small articles they're getting ready to include in the next township newsletter on subjects they think might be helpful for township residents related to septic tank maintenance, rain garden information, riparian buffers, and generally "green" practices that can help our watershed. Jeff mentioned that grassroots.org had requested a donation from our organization, but, as yet, it had not replied to his inquiry re: help mounting our newsletter, so he will contact them again re: help needed before we give them a donation. The next Fry's Run Watershed Assoc. meeting will be Tuesday, February 1, at 7:00 pm. Submitted by, Polly Clark
