Fry's Run Watershed Association January 5, 2010 Minutes Attendees were Jim Wilson, Jeff McGuire, Matt Powers, Bob Schmidt, Linda Heindel, and Polly Clark. Jim brought in the FRWA brochure from Keri Maxfield for review for any further minor revisions. The bill to date for it is $580.00. He will check with her re:any additional cost for the changes. Instead of the SALDO review, Susan Myerov is continuing to work with the township on the Open Space and Recreation Plan. She will be applying for funding to the county to bring NEMO to Williams Twsp. She is willing to come to one of our meetings to explain it further to us. Linda will edit the articles to be included in the township newsletter insert for FRWA. Jim will include a paragraph about the WREN project. Matt will do one on FRWA in general. Jeff will include one on the bacterial monitoring of the stream. Bob will write one about the Adopt-A-Highway roadside trash pickup, and Matt will include one about the rain garden. The rain garden workshop is tentatively scheduled for April or May. Matt and Jim will be meeting with the Wilson Area School Board on 01/18/10 for permission to locate the garden on the Williams Twp. Elementary School grounds and also re: the possibility of building a small pavilion, about 140 square feet, in the center of the courtyard that the water from the roof can be diverted into the rain garden. Matt estimated that it would cost about $500.00 for materials with volunteer labor. Jim's brother will donate some gutters and help with the roof. We will check with Rich Adams re:any permits needed. We also have the offer of a free rain barrel from Saucon Valley Watershed, which we'll decide on after the plans are complete re: the final rain garden design. Jim continues to keep in contact with Pete Zukanycz and will be meeting with him again in about two weeks re:plans for later visits to area farmers. The next water testing for Fry's Run is scheduled for the end of March or beginning of April. Our next meeting is February 3, 2010. Submitted by, Polly Clark PAGE PAGE 1
