Fry's Run Watershed Association March 1, 2011 Minutes Present were Matt Powers, Bob Schmidt, Jeff McGuire, Linda Heindel, and Polly Clark. Bob and Matt plan to attend the LV Watershed Conference on 03/11/11 at Lehigh University. On 04/02/11 Matt plans to follow-up Jim Wilson's presentation at the Mariton Wildlife Sanctuary with a more detailed presentation of what FRWA is and the projects we have done so far and have planned, such as the critter capture, riparian buffers, rain garden, rain barrels, and Adopt-A-Highway, and emphasize that we always need more volunteers. The date of the next hydrologic study of FRWA is still pending. Jeff and Matt met with Gordon Heller about 2 weeks ago at Fry's Run Park re: the pending Penn DOT bridge work planned on Rte 6ll at Fry's Run. The engineers have it all marked out now, and it's ready to go as soon as the weather is less muddy. They plan to begin construction as soon as possible and to be finished by November, 2011. Penn DOT plans to replace each of the big trees with 3 little ones. There will be a small riparian buffer zone there, so we could possibly provide some plants by the Spring of 2012. We've had the offer of some native viburnums from Carol MacIntosh, Country Lawnscape, because our current funding is almost gone. Penn DOT will have a map available for public review of "before" and "after" views of the bridge area in the mini-mall in Reigelsville. Per Matt, Jim Wilson still has some college professors interested in the source tracking of the bacterial pollution in Fry's Run, but that too will probably have to wait for additional grants. Bob Schmidt will be filing the 990 Form for FRWA prior to 04/15/11 to continue our non-profit status. The next meeting of FRWA will be 04/05/11 at 7:00pm. Submitted by, Polly Clark
