Fry's Run Watershed Association September 7, 2010 Minutes Members present included Jeff McGuire, Bob Schmidt, Linda Heindel, and Polly Clark. Vice President McGuire called the meeting to order. We're still waiting to see what's going to happen with the Green Valley Watershed Coalition. The rain barrel workshop on 08/14/10 was a success with about 20 people attending and getting rain barrels. The Williams Twsp.Community Day was also well attended, and Bob Schmidt had a table there with brochures from FRWA. The Sigal Museum's opening the same day also was a success. They are still in need of volunteers due to their non-profit status and ongoing budget shortfalls. Jeff clarified Matt's representation for Wms Twsp's Storm Water Regulation Committee on the Saucon Creek Watershed Study, Act 167 group, which is studying the Saucon Creek's silting and erosion problems. FRWA has not yet decided whether to work up a grant proposal to do a similar hydrological study for Fry's Run or not. That will probably be discussed further when Jim Wilson from Northampton Co. Soil Conservation District is available again. Bob Schmidt got confirmation from the IRS re:FRWA's continued certification of our 501C3 status as a non-profit organization. Water testing for the 3 sites on Fry's Run Creek is scheduled for Sunday, 10/03/10. The date for our Adopt-A-Highway cleanup program is Saturday, 10/30/10. Those planning on helping will meet at 9:00 am at Deemer Rd. The FRWA domain name now has an $8.02 annual fee, which was paid by McGuire. Linda reminded us that the Northampton County Historical Society will be having their meeting at the Sigal Museum on 10/17/10 @ 2:00pm. There is a reduced $5.00 fee for that. Next FRWA meeting will be 10/05/10 at 7:00pm. Submitted by, Polly Clark
